Xtreme Sports is billed as a sports RPG where you take two different characters and put their skills to the test in a variety of sports, including skateboarding and luge, set on an island where they can interact with other characters. 3DS Virtual Console Games Xtreme Sports ($4.99) Check it out: it's Shantae developer WayForward's first ever Game Boy Color game, originally released in 2000. It seems like it's sort of an RTS take on some of the Shin Megami Tensei mechanics, as you build up a team of demons (all with personality) to make use of their abilities in strategy gameplay. Play Demon King Box ($3.99) Demon King Box is a mixture of real-time strategy and RPG gameplay where you recruit heroes and demons to fight a bunch of enemies. It's split up between a Story mode and a Challenge mode that are both heavy on beating the pulp out of enemies.
The cast from the fighting game stars as cutesy, chibi versions of themselves. 3DS Original Download Games BlazBlue: Clone Phantasma ($5.99) This BlazBlue spinoff is a simple brawler with one-button combat. If you bought it on Wii Virtual Console, you can upgrade it for $1. It's a shoot-'em-up that switches between horizontal and vertical scrolling levels and supports two-player co-op. Life Force ($4.99) Life Force, known as Salamander in other regions, is a 1988 spinoff of Gradius that has super rad music. And hey, if you bought it on Wii Virtual Console, you can upgrade it for $1. Some of the few new additions include using Rush as a full Mega Man suit augmentation.
If you're hankering for more Mega Man, it's another fun entry. This late 8-bit game, which was actually published by Nintendo in North America, is very iterative, even featuring some similar weapons from past Mega Man games. Wii U Virtual Console Games Mega Man 6 ($4.99) Mega Man 6 originally hit the NES in 1994, making it one of the last games on Nintendo's first console. It's meant to be a tribute to arcade racing games from the late 1990s, but the word on the street (or rather, the word from when it launched in Europe last month) is that it's just kind of bad. On phones, this game is free and has multiplayer. Play Midtown Crazy Race ($4.99) Based off a mobile game, Midtown Crazy Race is a single-player racing game on Wii U.
